Get your own custom branded mailing bags

If you love the thought of using compostable packaging, but want your own logo or branding on it, then it's time to get custom HEROPACKs.

You can get double-sided, custom mailers from as low as 500 pieces! However, the best price per unit is when you select 5000 pieces or 10000 pieces.

These custom mailers can take 2-4 months to make and deliver to your door in Australia. Your custom mailers are made from scratch and printed on our certified compostable film.

HOW TO ORDER CUSTOM SHIPPING MAILER BAGS:

  1. Choose your size and quantity in the dropdown menu
  2. The price reflects the total price of the mailers (INCL the printing plate and GST)
  3. Place your order. You can pay using credit card, BNPL options or bank transfer
  4. Email us at hello@heropackaging.com.au with your artwork for the front and back of the mailer (this must be in .ai format)
  5. We will send you a PDF proof with your artwork
  6. Once approved, the mailers will go straight into production

These mailers are not single use plastic. Not even close. They are certified home-compostable shipping mailer and is made from 70-80% PBAT (a co-polymer that is completely compostable) and 20-30% PLA (which is a fancy way of saying cornstarch).

In a commercial compostable environment, it will break-down within 90 days. At home, it may take up to 120 days.

Note: We recommend purchasing compostable mailing bags for a 9 month usage period. This is because compostable mailers have a shelf life of 12 months.

Please also note that home-compostable shipping mailers are specially designed to disappear! They have a shelf life of 9-12 months. When ordering custom mailers, they will need to be used up within this timeframe. 

HEROPACK mailers have a high weight load rating and can withstand all the hard knocks during the shipping process.

Product shelf life: as our compostable mailers are made using renewable ingredients, they have a shelf life of approximately 9-12 months when kept in cool and dry conditions, out of direct sunlight. 

Please note: The lighter the colour, the more translucent the mailer is. We recommend choosing a medium to darker background colour.

The translucency of the HEROPACK material is due to the nature of the renewable ingredients used. There are strict rules to be in compliance with the Australian home-compostable certification from ABA, and this is the most important factor for us. If you are looking for no transparency, we recommend our black compostable mailers.

Custom Compostable Mailer FAQs

What is the minimum order for custom compostable mailers?

Custom non-padded HEROPACKs start from 500 mailers. Custom padded mailers start from 5,000. The price per mailer is lowest at 5,000 units and above for HEROPACKs and 10,000 and above for padded mailers.

How long do custom mailers take?

Custom compostable mailers are made from scratch and take 2–4 months to make and deliver in Australia. Plan ahead so you don’t run out of stock.

Need them faster or in a smaller quantity?

Our custom HEROKRAFT paper mailers and HEROHEX paper padded mailers can be printed from just 25 units and are printed and shipped within 1–2 weeks.

What printing is included?

The price includes double-sided printing, the printing plate and GST. Printing is one colour on one background colour: you choose the mailer colour and one print colour.

What materials are custom padded mailers made from?

Choose a paper matte outer or a compostable gloss outer, both with a compostable bubble inner made from PLA and PBAT. Most brands choose the paper outer: it has the best sustainability rating and customers can tear the paper away to recycle it.

Are custom mailers certified compostable?

Custom HEROPACKs are certified Home Compostable (AS 5810) and Commercially Compostable (AS 4736), and meet EN 13432. Custom padded mailers are certified for commercial composting only (AS 4736, EN 13432).

How do I order?

  1. Choose your size and quantity (and material for padded mailers) and place your order.
  2. Pay by credit card, buy-now-pay-later or bank transfer.
  3. Email your front and back artwork to hello@heropackaging.com.au — .ai files for HEROPACKs; AI or PDF for padded mailers.
  4. We send a PDF proof. Once you approve it, your mailers go straight into production.

Can I have a double adhesive strip for returns?

Custom mailers come with a single adhesive strip as standard. Email us for a quote on a double strip.

Which mailer colour should I choose?

The lighter the mailer colour, the more translucent it is, because of the renewable ingredients needed to stay certified compostable. We recommend a medium to dark background colour; choose black for no transparency.

What is the shelf life of custom mailers?

About 9–12 months when stored cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. Order a quantity you will use within that time.

Do you price match?

Yes. If you receive a lower price on like-for-like custom mailers, we’ll beat it by 5% (conditions apply).

Can I cancel or return a custom order?

Custom orders that have already been printed can’t be returned under any circumstances. If production hasn’t started, contact us within 14 days of purchase; a $15–$50 setup fee plus handling and restocking fees are deducted from your store credit. See our Shipping & Returns page.

Australia Post is currently delivering as normal. Choose Express Post at checkout if you need products quickly. Sydney customers also have same-day delivery options at checkout.

Some delivery delays may apply. Please allow extra time and check your tracking link before contacting us. Keep buffer stock on hand to avoid running out.

Allow 3–7 days to New Zealand, Canada, USA, UK, and other supported countries.

⚠ Import duties & customs — your responsibility

Orders shipped outside Australia are classified as imports in the destination country. You are responsible for paying any applicable import duties and taxes to clear customs.

The shipping carrier will contact you using your order details. If duties are not paid, the shipment will be diverted to commercial composting and cannot be returned. No refunds apply in these cases.

If you've purchased the wrong size or no longer need your mailers, you may be able to return them for store credit within 14 days of purchase. No change-of-mind returns are accepted after this period due to the shelf life of our mailers.

    Returns are subject to handling and restocking fees. The original shipping cost is also deducted from any store credit.

    For custom orders not yet printed, a sampling/setup fee of $15–$50 will also be deducted from the credit.

Sometimes things don't go to plan — and we'll always make it right. Resolutions can include product replacements, store credits, or refunds.

If you have a product issue, please contact us for instructions. We'll generally ask for photos or a short video of the issue to provide the fastest possible resolution.

Pre-Orders

Pre-Order Information

🔔 How pre-orders work

When a product is out of stock it may move to a pre-order listing. This will be clearly noted on the product page and in your order confirmation.

⚠ No split shipments

If you order a pre-order item alongside in-stock items, your entire order is held until pre-order stock is available. We cannot partially ship orders.

Tip: Place pre-order and in-stock items in separate orders to avoid delays.
